Design Event

This exhibition was among many art-themed events that take place in the botanical gardens. The event was intended to celebrate Chinese Lantern Festival. In doing so, it serves as a commercial space where people can consume the culture and its elements through leisure and recreational events. The festival was an exciting adventure into the importance of social order and the creation of sociable spaces. As such, the event offered various effective strategies to enhance the socialization process by offering differing levels of illumination. The space offers a relaxed and interactive environment that fosters a feeling of unburdening from the daily demands of light-driven commercial exploits. The event was much more than a recreational event. It was also an immersion into Chinese and East Asian cultures and art. The strategic illumination was essential in facilitating this immersive feeling during the nighttime.
